Computerised EEG

A psychiatrist relies on visual based analysis methods for the diagnosis of EEG. This visual based method have very less speed of acquisition and analysis. As there is no established specific relationship for EEG diagnosis the psychiatrist encounters many problems. Also human errors may arise at the time of observation, calculation and recording. To overcome these problems computers are widely used for diagnosis purpose. In this article we have discussed the computerised EEG analyser which monitors EEG, displays it on the computer screen, records the EEG, calculates the frequency and shape of the wave of which it is composed. The computer keeps a record of the case history of the patient. Also it may help the psychiatrist for diagnosis purpose.
